I am partnering with Expedia and their Viewfinder Travel site to share my favorite spots to eat and drink at Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA.
To commemorate our fifth anniversary, Brent and I embarked on a ten-day road trip that was quite a memorable adventure. Our journey began in Seattle, where we drove to Vancouver and then took a ferry to Victoria. We indulged in a delicious meal at our favorite restaurant. We feel grateful for the bond we share and cherish the moments we spend together.
So it turns out that the people of Costa Rica love avocados, and my prediction of guacamole for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was correct.
Over the past weekend, I had the chance to join Brent on a business trip to San Francisco. Since it was only a 1 hour and 40-minute flight away, I didn't hesitate to take the opportunity to visit a place that had been on my travel wishlist for as long as I can remember.
As I sit at my desk - reflecting on my short stay in Mexico - I sip from my glass of water, tasting much like chlorine. I gaze out the window into a sea of fog and drizzle. I'm this close to putting out a restraining order against that basket of laundry sitting on the counter, and I have contemplated skipping town and heading back south.
This was my first multi-day overnight backpacking trip and it has taken me a few days to recover and then sort through my photos. I was very excited about the trip but also extremely nervous.
In less than a week, so much has happened. Every day has been an exciting adventure filled with new sights to see, places to explore, streets to wander, people to meet, and food to try. Since my last post, we've followed a loop, heading west along the Mediterranean Sea, stopping in a few towns along the way. It's been a thrilling journey, and we're looking forward to experiencing more.
We arrived in Turkey last Thursday and let me tell you, the air is much less humid than in Croatia. However, the sun can still be scorching and we have to take shelter from 12 to 2 pm. Istanbul is an incredibly exciting and vibrant city, with a constant buzz in the air that just fills you with energy.
On the final day of my trip to Croatia, I indulged in some delicious ice cream and pizza while actively seeking out shade to protect myself from the scorching heat of the sun.
In Croatia, each morning begins with a burek, a traditional Bosnian phyllo pastry, tightly rolled and filled with spinach and cheese, similar in consistency to ricotta. They are also served with just cheese or meat filing, but I prefer the spinach.
Envision a land abundant with lush greenery, permeated by the scent of nature. Picture magnificent waterfalls, crystalline turquoise waters, historic castles, medieval towns, and over a thousand picturesque islands. And let's not forget the warm and hospitable locals always ready to offer help and guidance.
Paris is absolutely delightful! The food here is simply exquisite. I am staying with a friend's aunt right in the center of the city and relishing in the most amazing pastries for breakfast, followed by baguettes and cheese for lunch, and mouth-watering pasta for dinner.
In just a couple of hours of exploring Caye Caulker, I feel completely at ease. I've already pinpointed the crucial landmarks - the bakery and the ice cream shop - and memorized them. It's astonishing how rapidly one can adapt to Caye Caulker's charm and feel right at home.
I am back from my amazing vacation in Belize, where I was able to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy myself. It was an absolute dream come true. If you can imagine a tropical paradise with crystal-clear turquoise waters, pristine white sands, and an abundance of exotic wildlife, then you can picture the island I visited - Caye Caulker. Not to mention the endless supply of rice and beans that satisfied my appetite throughout the trip. Trust me, if you want to experience the ultimate tropical getaway, Caye Caulker should be your next destination.
